East Anglian League, King's Lynn
Sunday 6th May 2007
PAC Triumph at kings Lynn in EAL
Peterborough Athletic club produced a fine performance on Sunday winning four out of seven age groups to win the match outright. In the girls match Pac won 11 out of 19 disciplines with Megan Edwards and Lily Clark both winning in the 100 and 200m u13 (A/B). Emma Houghton (u15) again produced two PBs which is a wonderful achievement given she produced 2 PBs last week. Stacy McGivern led the Combined u17/snr ladies team with three wins out of three.
In the u13 boys Jake Berney and Jack Nicholls led the team to 10 wins out of 19 disciplines with wins in the 100 and 200m.Tyler Fayose produced 3 firsts for the senior men but was let down by lack of numbers to seriously challenge for 1st place as was the u17 men who still managed 2nd place.
Team manager Dave Bays said the day started poorly with events starting late due to a number of teams not fulfilling their obligation of bringing qualified officials. However once it got under way I can’t fault the commitment of not only the athletes but also those people who came forward to help run the events smoothly. We have the quality in the club not only to compete in this league but to go out and win it if we can get the commitment from the Athletes and the Coaches to take part.
