On a bright and sunny day 24 competitors ran for P.A.C in the first cross- country of the season. On a hilly course which many runners found tough, there where many fine performances, the best coming form Sarah Caskey who came 2nd in the U17 Women’s event leading team mates Lucy Davies (8th) and Laura Burke (9th) to a fine team total of 19 points. In the U13 girls there were 9 runners making up 3 teams with the first team Amy Haines- Eynon (6th) Jessica Varley (10th) and Laura Arnold (11th) putting them in the top three for the season. A excellent run came from Nicholas Stone in the U13 boys who finished 7th, unfortunately there where no other U 13 boys to make up a team (3 to score). This was also the case in the U15 Boys, U17 Men and Junior/Senior Men (This was probably a result of the Great Easten Run taking place the day after). Hopefully this will be addressed at the next meeting at Markeaton Park.
