Southern Womens League 27th June 2009.
The Women came fourth in the third league fixture which was held at Luton on Saturday 27th June 2009,
On a scorching hot sunny day and with the team depleted by injuries and illness before the day and also by the clash with the AAA Meeting held at Bedford on the same day, all those who competed did well to keep it so close.
The Club were missing (sprinter) Sharna Emanuell, (Multi eventer's) Emily Moss (3A's) & Leah Parsons (injured), (Distance) Rachel Stone (injured) & Sarah Caskey( holiday), (Hammer) Steph Hendy (3A's) and (Multi-Jumper's) Devon Spencer & Emma Houghton who both had to have surgery the week before for Appendicitus.
On the day it also didn,t help when dropping the baton whilst contesting the lead in the 4 X 100m relay but there were fine performances from Michela Dortch (U17) on her S.W.L debut, Katy Lee (U20) who won her string T/J and Michelle Longman also (U20), who ran a excellent race in making her debut in the 400m Hurdles.
