PAC Aviva Startrack Easter Holiday Scheme
Aviva Startrack for... Young Athletes
Are you aged between 8 and 15? Can you run, jump or throw – or maybe all three? If the answer to this is yes then you should sign up to the Peterborough AC Aviva Startrack scheme!
Everyone who signs up to the scheme for 5 days or more will receive an Aviva Startrack Goodie bag which includes T-shirt and cap as well as other great items.
The PAC Aviva Startrack Scheme runs during the Easter and Summer School Holidays Sign up online for a half day/ whole day or longer.....
Peterborough AC will provide CRB-checked qualified coaches to lead the young athletes through all aspects of the sport in a fun, safe environment at the Embankment Athletics Arena in Peterborough - 9 am to 4pm.
Advanced booking required.
Activities will be structured to give all athletes the chance to try all disciplines of athletics. Fun competitions and achievement awards will be made to all athletes
Costs:
£22 per day - or £11 for Half Day (09.00-13.00 or 12.00 - 16.00)
10 % discount for athletes who are members of a club part of the Greater Peterborough Athletics Network - GPAN
(i.e .Bushfield Joggers, Eye Community Runners, Peterborough AC, Thorney Running Club, Werrington Joggers and Yaxley Runners)
The aims of Aviva UKA Academy
UKA and Home Country athletics bodies know that by using Aviva Startrack you can:
- Raise the profile of athletics amongst young athletes and their parents in the community.
- Introduce children to athletics in a fun and exciting format.
- Introduce athletics to minority groups or areas where staging athletics can be a challenge.
- Introduce, support and develop coaches and officials by providing a new way of experiencing this sport for the first time..
- Encourage more young people to become involved and to stay involved in athletics, with Aviva Startrack a brilliant way to help promising youngsters access other Aviva UKA Academy Programmes.
- Helps children to improve athletic skills in a relaxed environment so they have confidence in progressing and give them the opportunity to progress their performance.
What you need to know for the Peterborough AC Aviva Startrack Scheme:
- Dates: Monday 2 April - Thursday 5th April and Tuesday 10 April - Friday 13 April 2012
- Hours: 0900-16.00. Half day - 09.00 - 13.00 or 12.00 - 16.00
- Structure: 0900 - 10.00 - registration and indoor games & activities.
10.00 - 12.00 athletics activities
12.00 - 13.00 Lunch and afternoon registration
14.00 -16.00 athletics activities
- Where: Embankment Track (Behind Regional pool)
- Leadership: Peterborough AC CRB-checked and qualified male and female coaches
- Aims: Lots of fun for the athletes. Learning new skills and making new friends in a safe attractive environment
- Activities: include sprints, relays, jumps, throws (shot, discus, javelin and hammer)
- Informal and friendly regular competition. Those athletes registering for more than one week will see their performance improve.
- Aviva Startrack Goody bag (including t-shirt and cap) for all participants booking for 5 days or more.
- Please bring your own packed lunch, snacks and drinks. It is vital you bring enough to drink to last the day - athletics can be a thirsty business!
- Bring hats and clothing appropriate to the weather!
- Please book early. We need to book enough coaches and leaders.
- Pick up your child on time - please!

If your child likes athletics and wishes to find out how good they can be, then why not consider joining Peterborough AC as a member. Peterborough AC is the only local club to be Clubmark accredited and has produced some great international athletes over the years.
Even the athletes who did not achieve International honours still had a great time, made life-long friends and found the ideal sport to help stay fit and healthy into old-age.
